重要提醒

青蔥，也就是我們常說的蔥，與洋蔥、大蒜、韭菜同屬蔥屬 (Allium family) 植物。它對貓有劇毒。整株植物的所有部位——蔥白、綠色的蔥葉，甚至是乾燥的蔥粉——無論生熟，都很危險。 其毒性來自有機硫化合物。在貓體內，這些化合物會損害紅血球中負責攜帶氧氣的血紅素。這種損害會導致稱為「海因茲小體」(Heinz bodies) 的 clumps 形成，並造成紅血球被破壞。這種狀況稱為「溶血性貧血」(hemolytic anemia)，意味著貓的身體無法獲得運作所需的氧氣。 中毒跡象可能要過幾天才會出現，包括虛弱、牙齦蒼白、呼吸急促和紅棕色的尿液。因為許多菜餚中都有青蔥，所以讓貓遠離這些食物非常重要。如果你懷疑你的貓吃到了任何蔥，請立即聯絡獸醫或急診動物醫院。
