   心血管功能異常 6–12 小時 · The toxic compounds alter intracellular calcium fluxes in striated and cardiac muscles, abnormally enhancing muscle contractility89. This results in very rapid, irregular heartbeats, internal bleeding, and ultimately cardiac arrest in the terminal phase.

   呼吸窘迫 6–12 小時 · As cardiovascular and systemic distress worsens, cats will pant and breathe rapidly23. They may develop a bluish tinge to their skin and mucous membranes (cyanosis) due to poor oxygenation, culminating in respiratory failure.

重要提醒

巧克力是對貓咪非常危險的食物之一。它含有可可鹼（theobromine）和咖啡因，這兩種成分會刺激貓咪的神經系統和心臟。 貓咪分解這些物質的速度比人類慢很多，所以即使吃下不多，也可能讓毒素在體內累積，造成中毒。中毒後可能出現嘔吐、腹瀉、躁動、心跳加快、顫抖、抽搐，嚴重時甚至可能導致心律不整或死亡。 黑巧克力、烘焙巧克力和可可粉的可可鹼含量最高，風險也最大。對貓咪來說，約 2 克黑巧克力就可能造成嚴重傷害，因此只要誤食巧克力，就應盡快聯絡獸醫。

• 症狀：2–4 小時內可能出現嘔吐與腹瀉；接著出現躁動、心跳加快、過度口渴與排尿；再惡化為肌肉顫抖、體溫過高、心律不整與大發作型癲癇；嚴重時可能呼吸衰竭與死亡。
• 危險程度由高到低：乾可可粉 > 烘焙巧克力 > 黑巧克力／半甜巧克力 > 牛奶巧克力 > 白巧克力（幾乎沒有可可鹼）。
• 2 克就可能造成嚴重傷害：比一小格標準巧克力還少，烘焙食品上的碎屑也應認真看待。
• 處理方式：獸醫急症。即使只是少量暴露，也請立即聯絡獸醫。
