   休克、倒下、虛弱 Rapid (10–60 minutes). · Hypotension (low blood pressure) and arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) can lead to sudden weakness, staggering, and collapse. Death can occur quickly if untreated.

   癲癇發作（抽搐）與肌肉顫抖 Rapid. · As the brain is deprived of usable oxygen, the cat may experience tremors and violent convulsions, eventually lapsing into a coma.

   呼吸困難、喘氣、呼吸急促、過度換氣 Rapid; typically within 10–60 minutes to a few hours after ingestion. · Signs include panting, gasping for breath, or rapid breathing. This occurs because the cyanide toxin prevents cells from utilizing oxygen (cellular hypoxia), even though the blood is fully oxygenated.

   牙齦或黏膜呈鮮紅色 Rapid (minutes to hours). · The gums and tongue may appear unusually bright red or pink (often described as "cherry red"). This coloration results from an abundance of oxygen in the blood that the tissues are unable to absorb due to the toxin blocking cellular respiration.

   瞳孔放大（散瞳） Rapid (minutes to hours). · Enlarged pupils are a classic sign of cyanide poisoning often appearing alongside respiratory and cardiovascular distress.

   嘔吐、過度流口水、腹瀉 Minutes to hours. · Salivation is frequently noted as an early sign. While GI obstruction is a risk if a whole pit is swallowed, chemical toxicity causes these symptoms due to systemic poisoning.

重要提醒

杏桃的果肉部分對貓來說是安全的，並不含有毒性化合物。危險在於果核：當貓咬碎或壓碎果核時，酵素會分解苦杏仁苷，一種氰苷類化合物，並釋放出劇毒的氰化氫（HCN）。 氰化物會與細胞色素 c 氧化酶結合；這是粒線體電子傳遞鏈中的關鍵酵素。一旦受到抑制，細胞呼吸會停止。由於心臟和大腦對能量的需求最高，因此會最先受到影響並衰竭。若整顆吞下，果核也可能造成嚴重的窒息或腸道阻塞風險。

• 症狀： 嘔吐、呼吸急促或費力、低血壓與休克、嗜睡、肌肉無力、癲癇發作、昏迷，並可能發展為致命的心臟與呼吸衰竭；症狀可能快速出現。
• 僅果肉安全；餵食少量作為零食前，必須完全去除果核、果梗和葉片
• 整顆吞下果核可能造成喉嚨或腸道阻塞，並可能需要手術處理
