   過度流口水（流涎）或舔嘴唇 立即（咀嚼或攝入時）。 · This is caused by both the chemical irritation from the saponins and the mechanical injury from the sharp, spiny leaves puncturing or scratching the sensitive tissues of the mouth and throat.

   嗜睡或抑鬱 急性（繼胃腸道症狀之後）。 · The cat may appear tired or unresponsive, often as a secondary reaction to the pain and dehydration associated with vomiting and diarrhea.

   搖頭或抓嘴巴 立即。 · The leathery, spiny leaves of many holly varieties (Ilex aquifolium) can physically damage the oral cavity, leading to behavior that suggests mouth discomfort.

• 機制：皂苷會引起嚴重的胃腸道黏膜刺激；高劑量全身吸收可能引起中樞神經系統和心臟影響
• 症狀：嚴重的噁心、嘔吐、腹瀉、嗜睡、過度搖頭、流口水；即使攝入 1–2 顆果實也會引起明顯症狀
• 所有冬青屬植物都應視為有害物質——包括鮮株和乾燥/裝飾用的冬青
