重要提醒

黃花夾竹桃（Thevetia peruviana）對貓來說是極度危險且劇毒的植物。所有部位，包含葉子、花、莖，都含有致命毒素，其中種子的毒素濃度最高，也特別致命。 黃花夾竹桃的毒素是心臟苷類，特別是 thevetin A 和 thevetin B。這些化學物質會直接攻擊心臟肌肉，擾亂心臟正常搏血的功能。它們會干擾心臟的電氣訊號，導致心率異常變慢或變快，或造成其他嚴重的心律不整。即使只是極少量，例如啃食一片葉子或一顆種子，也可能致命。 任何貓咪只要疑似接觸或食入黃花夾竹桃的任何部位，都需要立即的緊急獸醫護理。中毒跡象包含嚴重嘔吐、腹瀉、流口水、虛弱、顫抖和癱軟倒下。它對心臟的影響會危及生命，必須馬上醫療介入。這是真正的急症，請立即聯絡獸醫或急診動物醫院。
