月桂櫻桃 (Prunus laurocerasus) 是常被用作樹籬與遮蔽的常綠灌木。和其他 Prunus 屬植物（櫻桃、杏桃、李子）一樣，它的葉子、樹皮和種子含有扁桃腈苷 (prunasin)，這是一種氰苷；被壓碎、咀嚼並消化後會釋放氰化氫 (HCN)。機制與蘋果籽和杏桃果核相同：酵素分解扁桃腈苷，釋放會停止細胞呼吸的有毒氰化物。漿果本身的氰苷較葉子和種子少，但仍不安全。
